Envisions LRI (Legal Relative/Guardian Involvement) Services allow a relative legal guardian—such as a parent, sibling, or other close family member—to serve as a paid employee of an agency. This program supports families by ensuring that care can be provided by someone who knows the participant best while still maintaining agency oversight and professional standards.
Because guardians and close relatives often know the participant’s needs more personally, LRI Services give families the opportunity to directly contribute to their loved one’s care while being supported and supervised by an agency.
Although the caregiver is a relative, services are provided in the official capacity of an agency employee. This ensures proper training, accountability, and adherence to care standards.
Service hours are determined through an individualized assessment of need. Total hours are capped at 40 hours per week, ensuring balance and sustainability for both the caregiver and participant.
